Sailing Experience

Over the years, I have sailed thousands of nautical miles across the Adriatic, Mediterranean and Atlantic, both cruising and racing.

I have been part of crews competing in some of the world's most respected offshore and inshore sailing events, including the Rolex Middle Sea Race, RORC Caribbean 600, Barcolana and Rolex TP52 World Championship.

Racing taught me precision, preparation and teamwork. Cruising taught me patience, adaptability and respect for the sea.

Both continue to shape how I sail and how I teach.

Why Sail With Me?

I first stepped on a sailing boat as a child in 1989. It was love at first sight โ€” not only for sailing, but for the simple discovery of how little we need to live, and how much beauty nature can offer when we slow down enough to notice it.

Since then, sailing has taught me a lot.

At sea, titles matter less. Ego gets tired quickly. You learn to listen, to prepare, to take responsibility, to help others, and to respect forces bigger than yourself.

Over the years, from the Adriatic to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, I have seen this in many different settings โ€” close to shore and far offshore, in calm family moments and in full racing mode. The context changes, but the lesson keeps becoming clearer:

Good seamanship is not about looking confident.

It is about becoming calm, useful, present, and trustworthy โ€” one decision, one tack, one shared moment at a time.

I created Lazy Tackers because I believe sailing is one of the most honest ways to return to what matters: attention, simplicity, courage, connection, and respect for nature.

Many people are drawn to the sea, but feel pushed away by pressure, ego, or technical language. I wanted to build a different kind of week โ€” one where you can learn to sail, but also learn to live more simply, move with the rhythm of the boat, ask questions, make mistakes, share space, and slowly begin to trust yourself at sea.

Lazy Tackers is not about becoming someone else.

It is about remembering how good it feels to be present, useful, curious, and alive.
